Antimicrobial peptide is the first line of defense of non - specific immune system in aquatic animals. It plays an important role in the process of resisting foreign pathogenic microorganisms. Antimicrobial peptide from aquatic animals, such as fish, shrimps, crabs etc. , has stronger bactericidal action activity, smaller hemolytic effect, and diversiform species, which show more advantages than antimicrobial peptides of other types. This review focuses on recent research on the antimicrobial peptide from some aquatic animals, progress in genetic engineering and transgenic aquatic animals, as well as prospects of its application in the field of aquaculture prospects. |
