| An auto-capture set for fish in the stream and river—rotary screw traps and its application in the investigation of fish resources were introduced. Rotary screw traps consist of a cone，supported on two pontoons，with interior baffles to trap and transfer fish to a live-box. The advantage of this equipment is the auto-and living-captured，with almost no harm to fish，little selectivity，and the cheap cost for long-time run. This article also shows some application of rotary screw traps in fishery research and the expectation，for the aims of introduction a new way for fish ecological research and protection.
